Yes. We are all busy. But if we intend to keep our friends and maintain a meaningful relationship with them, we should be intentional with friends. We have to make time... even though it's so difficult to squeeze in time for a tete a tete over coffee. (tell me about it...)
I met with friends from my previous work. Even though the time we had was just over dinner, it was a satisfactory one. Catching up was a feat. The trick is to ask the right questions so you can get the information you want -- fast :)
I have decided this year that I will not anymore bother with people (read: friends) who will not make the effort to spend the time with me. Kung ayaw nila, e di huwag. Ganun lang ka-simple 'yun. Kase kung out of 10 invitations to go out e one time lang siya pwede, parang imposible di ba?
Oh well, life's like that.
